We are excited to announce that Stop Hunger Now has joined a group of 31 international NGOs in committing $1.2 billion toward global humanitarian assistance efforts over the next three years through membership in InterAction, the largest U.S. alliance of international nongovernmental organizations.
According to the UN refugee agency, there are more than 65 million displaced people in the world–the highest number since World War II. Stop Hunger Now will work alongside the 31 other pledge signers to provide urgent medical assistance, food and nutrition security, shelter, education and other essential services to refugees and displaced populations across the globe.
“Nonprofit organizations must collaborate effectively to meet the critical needs of millions of people around the world. Through this partnership, we are dedicated to delivering the greatest aid possible. I appreciate the efforts that InterAction has undertaken to coordinate such strong collaboration among its members,†said Rod Brooks, President & CEO.
Over the three-year commitment period, InterAction will track and announce the total investments by participating member NGOs in humanitarian aid related to refugee services and relief annually. Â
