Functional Summary
The position is responsible for providing technical inputs to the field units in developing and designing programs and projects on nutrition, health and WASH. The projects for rural communities will center around Hunger Free Village Charter that aims to ensure evidence-based outcomes at the communities related to nutritional diversity, zero cases of SAM/MAM, food availability etc. The focus should be on community-led initiatives targeted at preventing malnutrition rather than treatment and therapeutic care. In urban areas, the focus is on ensuring quality outcomes for program participants served by partners who primarily receive Rise Against Hunger India’s fortified packaged uncooked meals.
Specific Job Functions:
- Develop Strategic Approaches, Intervention Areas and Implementation Methods for Rise Against Hunger India on Nutrition, Health and WASH.
- Review, Refine and Develop Guidelines, Tools and Educational Materials for Rise Against Hunger India field teams, community stakeholders and other program participants such as mothers, adolescent girls, and young children.
- Proposal Development & Donor Reporting – identify potential donors, grantors and funders and prepare quality proposals for submission with inputs from the field teams.
- Program Monitoring – conduct field visits, meetings and on-site data analysis to ensure programs and projects are progressing as scheduled and delivering results as expected.
- Capacity Building and Training – Conduct and facilitate capacity building initiatives for field staff and NGO partners on key programmatic aspects of nutrition, Health and WASH to help them identify critical issues for programmatic intervention.
- Drive nutrition education for school students, adolescents, and youth in urban and rural settings.
- Engage with partner NGOs receiving Rise Against Hunger India meals to build their capacity in nutrition program management and outcome reporting through training and education initiatives.
- Facilitate linkage and liaison with relevant government machinery and systems responsible for nutrition management at the community, block, and district levels.
- Collaborate with the global program team of Rise Against Hunger on relevant thematic areas and provide inputs for global reporting on Nutrition, Health and WASH.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nutrition or related area (preferably with specialization on Community Nutrition)
- At least 8 years of work experience in Health, WASH and or Nutrition with hands-on project implementation experience in handling community-based nutrition programs, especially food based, non-therapeutic nutrition initiatives
- Must have a solid track record in proposal development and grants management
- Experience in promoting adolescent-led projects to promote individual behavior change will be considered a bonus
